Born in the south of France in the summer of 1959, François Hugon moved to Indianapolis, Indiana four days before his 20th birthday. He then moved to Atlanta where he lived for 25 years. François has spent 30 years in the hospitality industry, and has been in wine sales for the last 20 years. He is the father of a son and a daughter, and has four grandchildren. He now resides in Fishers, Indiana.

François was recently approached by a local screenplay writer/director, Logan Hunter, to make a movie out of his story, and as of February 2024, the screenplay is officially finished. His dream of sharing his story is alive and well, and hopefully, in a couple of years the movie will be released to the world.

Made in France is the answer to the question: “Why did you leave the French Riviera at age 19 to move to Indianapolis?”
At age nine, Francois decided he was going to go to America, a dream that took him 10 years to fulfill. But his adventures were far from being over. Kidnapped twice by the age of 10, he developed a chronic autoimmune disorder that causes patches of skin to lose pigment or color, known as Vitiligo, by 11 years old, met Grace Kelly at 17, worked on a cruise ship at 18, spent his 19th birthday in Cairo at the bottom of the Pyramids, all before 1979. With each chapter named after a song from the 60's and 70's, Made in France shares the lessons learned through an exciting life.
